Hey guys what's up it's joe ready from ladies rides i'm back at one of my favorite special locations because we have one of my favorite mid-size sedans this is a 2021 mazda6 this is the top trim that signature trim and boy oh boy we got turbocharged power but before we dive into this turbocharged midsize sedan from mazda let's talk about what's going on here mazda this brand that's been around since the late 1920s but what's fascinating originally it wasn't about cars for them they made another item change fora vehicle  that actually starts with a/c cork it wasn't until 1933 when Mazda made a vehicle change for  called the mazda go it was a small three-wheel pickup truck  since then boy oh boy have things change for this  iconic japanese brand now what's interesting is that being a child growing up in the 1980s it was always about those rotary powered mazda rx-7s i remember when mazda won the coveted 24 hours of le mans first japanese car company to ever do that and also the first and only company to do it with a rotary engine.
Now if you fast forward to the 21st  century and i say Mazda Mazdas  a lot of people they would reply miata  that's what they're known for but you  know what  the rotary engine may not be around  anymore but they're still  bringing that zoom zoom experience even  though they don't put in their  advertisements because they're trying to  be this  grown-up polished car company that  zoom experience is what makes this  mazda6  and the other mazdas in the lineup so  special because of that great driving  engagement  so let's go ahead let's dive into this  soul red it's that  brand identifier for mazda soul red  mazda6  and i want to find out is this the  mid-size you should be buying  over a sonata over a honda accord  and over a toyota camry let's go ahead  and find out right off the bat  the style what's interesting is that  this is not a new design  it's been in existence for a few years  now but it's still looking super fresh  let me explain why at the front of the business mazda does a great  job on headlight housings and tail light  housings and i think that's one of the reasons why it still  looks fresh look at the way it kind of  tapers in  as you come close towards the grill on  the inside it's all blacked out of  course you're going to get led  headlights led  daytime running lamps and what's  wonderful is that the headlights  are actually adaptive so what that means  is that they actively move with the  steering wheel  and what's fascinating a lot of people  think that's new technology  back in 1949 tucker automobiles  actually made that setup it was a center  headlight that actually moved  with the steering wheel here it is 21st  century.
On this mazda 6. as we work our way down  i love the way they take that nice  bright shiny chrome trim on our  signature setup here  no fake vent no flat black no gloss  black  everything beautiful sole red a little  bit of chrome to kind of  tie in both the top and the bottom  portion and then  as we come across the center grille i  love how the hood has a nice waterfall  sloping effect into the front fascia if  you notice  the chrome trim here mimics the actual  setup of the mazda logo the way it kind  of drops down and extends on both sides  instead of going gloss black they go  with a nice metallic gray  really just gives it exquisite styling  you got your forward facing camera  and then even the bottom portion the way  that they extend the front  fascia no need for any other bodywork to  stick on  looks great nice low and wide now when  we get up onto that hood  it's the simplicity that really equates  to beautiful styling on a mazda  the way that the body lines start on the  front fascia just go  into the hood and just drift away right  into the a-pillar  like a feather just floating in the wind  as we come around the bend.
What are we seeing special on our  signature edition look at those wheels  hand polished right from japan love the  multi-spoke it's a 19-inch wheel  looking clean with our setup they are a  little narrow i wish they were a little  bit more wide  it's a 225 on the width but the great  news is nice bright  brushed aluminum look 19 inch wheel and  it works well with the sole red color  one of the things i also love on the  side here is the fender look at how  it's got a nice bend to it that's what  gives it i think that timeless look  where it's aging very well compared to a  lot of the competition  just super just smooth and seamless you  know that they took  a block of clay and just carved it  beautifully into the shape now  that body line that's so strong just  fades away  into the passenger door obviously also  on the driver door on the other side  color matched on the mirror caps slim  and trim on those turn signals and then  you're gonna get some bright  shiny metal work just like on the front  top and bottom  of your side windows here we have a  standard size sunroof  you also have a color match shark fin  antenna very small in size  kind of blends in very nicely color  matched on the door handles  the one thing i wish they would have  done that i'm gonna zonk is i wouldn't  say they would have took  the side sill and just extended it down  just a little bit to give it a little  bit more  character from the side other than that  super smooth  love the way there's no hard body lines  no triangles no  weird geometric shapes you have a  nice size quarter window built into the  door  here but the thing that i wish they  would have done is actually made this  glass so i am going to zonk this gloss  black section but i do like the way they  flare out  the trim and you'll notice just like a  front  on the hood the roof has a nice slope to  it  right into the rear glass love the way  the body line comes right into that rear  fender  and then to wrap it out back you're  going to get led tail lights  nice trunk lid spoiler that extends off  this is part of that signature trim i  like the way they notch out the center  to wrap around the mazda logo  the chrome trim and then as we drop down.
You're going to get a turbo badge  because guess what we got some  turbocharged goodness underneath the  hood  and just great with the exhaust one  exhaust on each side they don't have to  look like a vacuum cleaner  doesn't have to look like some kind of  weird science experiment  it's just a round nice slash cut exhaust  one on each side you have  this dark gray color trim just to kind  of  spruce it up and break it up a little  bit and you got your mazda6 logo and the  signature badge  that's all you need but while we go  ahead let's pop the hood and see that  turbocharged fun  that this mazda6 is bringing all right  guys we got the hood popped  we do have a prop rod so we are going to  zonk that at least on the signature trim  get rid of the prop rod but underneath  that hood you are going to have  a simple but tasteful engine cover it's  got the mazda badge  logo on it even has two cup holders but  the good news is underneath that  plastic cover is turbocharged fun so.
You're looking at a 2.5 liter  turbocharged engine if you use premium  fuel  250 horsepower 310 pound-feet of torque  the awesome news is no cvt it's got a  six-speed automatic transmission  0-60 in about 6.3 seconds top speed 149  miles an hour  the car weighs around 3563 pounds  it is front-wheel drive and mpg's 23 in  the city  31 on the highway i think it's wonderful  that they bring that turbocharged power  it will be interesting because they're  saying that the redesign of this is  gonna have a straight  six turbocharged engine with rear wheel  drive  oh boy oh boy does that sound good but  you know what sounds good let's go check  out that interior because i think  you might be impressed with what the sig  signature trim  brings to the table all right guys we're  inside the 2021  mazda6 signature edition i know you're  saying well joe  this midsize sedan category is driving  me nuts  the competition is fierce uh i'm really  liking the soul red  and you know what having the top trim  with turbocharged power  sounds good to me how much does this one  cost msrp  is 36 995  let's see what we get for our money to  the door panels i love  the choice of materials now up top it's  all soft  the great news is you got some of that  nice wood trim some of that great  silver trim and the way it flows nicely  into the door handle to open up the door  that shows thought in the whole design  process and  i'm really digging this cream and dark  material it really pops nicely now would.
I want to own it  probably not because it's just gonna get  fingerprints and everything but boy oh  boy  does it look good when it's nice and  clean you have a good sized door pocket  maybe two grilled cheese sandwiches that  your mom made for you  wrap them up in some aluminum foil and  you do have a nice  area for a bottle of mr pibb and we have  a bose sound system now when we get to  the dash  same thing look at how they take that  silver trim wrap it around bring it  across  soft touch you got this microfiber suede  material  the wood trim is tasteful this is  probably going to be the area  where a lot of people get turned off the  infotainment side of things so you do  have an  8-inch infotainment system it has not  been updated like the other mazda  products  and i think a lot of it has to do with  this guy right here where they place the  start stop button  that would all have to be redesigned  because the new system  is actually over 10 inches in width so  that is part of the equation  but you know what still easy to use is  it a touch screen yes  so that'll make you happy apple carplay  android auto  navigation it takes a few seconds when  you first prime it up but there it is  it is dated but it does work well so and  I think a lot of times people are going  to just use google maps  uh or apple maps or whatever you're  going to use other than  the actual navigation map now you do  have that silver trim goes all the way  across.
I'm really digging this uh microfiber  suede material here looking good you do  have dual climate which is nice and i  love the quality of the knobs  easy to use ventilated seats heated  seats and heated steering wheel  you got a cubby for i would say easily  12 twinkies so that's a great place to  load all those twinkies let me lower the  air a little bit so you can still hear  me okay  twinkie area you got some gloss black  nothing too crazy but what i like about  i like the way it's sunk  it's sunken down into that area rather  than being flush  soft touch material soft as a baby's  butt  this is going to control that six -speed  automatic transmission  you do have the sport mode remember  that's going to adjust how the  transmission behaves you just hit it up  that's it if you want to get out of  sport you hit it back down you have that  direct drive control knob to control  your navigation and all that kind of  stuff  nice flat black cover that when you  slide it back it feels great  two cup holders and then the great news  is because they're sunken down you can  put a tall a drink here  you have the mazda key fob  tasteful it's light the buttons on the  side  i'm going to drop that in and close that  up very very soft on the armrest and  then you open this guy up  you got felt lining so you could put  some family jewels in there  you got two usbs an aux jack and a 12  volt  easy to get to and like i said you're  not going to scratch your family jewels  which is good  and then the interior and the signature  very premium  without that premium price i like the  little bit of silver trim  soft touch all the way down full  electric assist for the passenger  and of course the driver i have plenty  of headroom in here  and you have a standard size sunroof  which makes life a little brighter for  you but why don't you come over to the  business end  because i want to show you what you're  going to be holding on to  behind the wheel of the mazda6 all right  guys business time behind the wheel  you have your seat controls with two  memory seat settings  easy to get to of course you got the  ease of use is just really really super  clean  lower lumbar plenty of headroom steering  wheel  the thickness it could be a little  thicker but you know what it's got nice  10 and two notches  flat black on the buttons tasteful horn  button i wish they would have notched  out this center area  but you do have paddles behind the wheel  to go up and down  that six-speed automatic transmission  and then the dash  is clear concise and straightforward you  have an analog tack  analog fuel and cooling gauge but guess.
What that digital display in the center  that's your speedometer and you could  actually go through different  information in that center area which  makes it really really easy to do and  you have a digital  um fuel range gauge as well which is  wonderful but while we go ahead  let's check out that back seat and see  how your passengers are going to like  this fully loaded mazda 6.  all right guys backseat time in the  mazda6 great news is you got plenty of  leg room  plenty of head room especially the way  they kind of notch out the headliner a   little bit  one of my favorite things are the backs  of the seats so you're not getting any  of that plastic  it looks really great great size on the  pocket so you could put  a dictionary back here have your kids  learn some new words  other than the bad words that they're  learning from you you got  your rear ac with some nice little trim  here  and i know you're probably saying well  joe where's my connectivity hold that  thought  sitting back in the seat the leather is  so soft back here feels really good  get ready for this one boom semi-soft on  the armrest you have heated seats  two cupholders and are you ready for it  ta-da  two usbs and some felt linings so guess  what  take your iphone 44 gold and platinum  edition you can put in here it's not  gonna get scratched  boom badoom if you're ready i'm ready.
Let's go check out that trunk  because i want to take this for a spin  all right guys let's see what kind of  junk we could put in the trunk of our  mazda6  you just hit the button you lift it up  decent size on the width but the good  news is you're looking at 15 cubic feet  of space  i like the way the floor is a little bit  on the lower side and then you're going  to pull these handles here  which are at the top on each side that's  going to allow you to fold down those  seats  so that you can go if you are ready to  hoard all that toilet paper at the  grocery store  you could load it right into here but  you know what this is about hauling  the charmin we're going to also haul the  mail  and see how this mazda6 drives let's go  guys we're in the 2021  mazda6 signature edition  i'm telling you this interior level of  quality in here  is really second to none everywhere you  touch  is nice soft material and even though  in the end if i was buying a mazda 6 a  2021 i would go carbon edition  this signature edition with the two-tone  definitely  brings this interior alive now we won't  talk about the sore spot too much i'm  not gonna kick a dead horse or anything  like that but  obviously the infotainment system is  gonna be the weak link.
In this whole uh fence of a mazda6  but the good news is you do have apple  carplay android auto  and it's easy to get to easy to see  it's a touch screen which i know a lot  of people like the touch screen where  you don't have to just use  the direct drive control knob now  steering wheel feels good those 10 and  two notches  the paddles they're on the smaller side  and they're really inward  but if you want to use them they're  there for you to use  i'm going to go ahead and take that  silver switch put it in a sport mode as  soon as i do that  it actually brings the revs up it  dropped me down a gear it actually  brings the revs up while i'm driving  down this road here  head up display gives you your speed  tells you what the speed limit is  and i'm just gonna leave it in full  automatic mode for the first few seconds  here  and then we will put it in the manual  mode so i could showcase  how the transmission behaves when using  the paddles but  the seats are so comfortable so  supportive  feel good look good i wish there was  wireless charging so that definitely is  going to be another  zonk there but other than that the dash  is laid out very nicely  i don't need a digital display i don't  need  um a bunch of fancy other gizmos in here  i like the  clean aesthetics and  i mean you have the digital gauge in the  center the analog gauges are very easy  to read  at a quick glance visibility out the  back is fantastic  and then of course we have 250  horsepower because guess what  i filled this one up with premium fuel  but nice steering feel once we get to  the twisty bits  and kind of throw into some turns a  little bit that's where you're really  going to see the mazda6  earn its keep um and then i got the  ventilated seats on which feel amazing  all right guys i have it in manual mode  we're gonna go through some twisty bits  here  on the brakes into this right hand bend  on throttle here we go little bit of  tire spin  look at the way she holds a line very  very nice  good weight to the steering and that's  where  you're gonna feel good behind the wheel  of this mazda6  is how she behaves when  you're going from left to right  transitions or any type of turning to be  honest with you  and the transmission downshift shifts  very very smooth  very seamless which is nice  roll on throttle you got that  turbocharged power  visibility is great getting to  everything  on the interior is simple within reach  and it makes sense i even like the  location of the cup holders you know.
When you look at the new mazda 3 cup  holders they put in front of the shifter  i don't like that location it doesn't  allow you to have a taller bottle  and it's right near everything that  you're trying to reach  in this vehicle it's a little bit  further back and that really helps  as well you do have a gear indicator at  the base  of your digital speedometer which is  nice you know i think that the mazda6 would really benefit from a  little  wider wheel and tire definitely in that  right hand bend  i was breaking some traction and you'll  see from a dead stop  acceleration you also break traction but  second gear  on throttle here we go  on the brakes  see coming out that turn i lost some  traction  holds a line great though that  multi-link rear suspension  doing the business look how i'm able to  just hold a nice steady  constant radius there  brakes feel good and we're not talking  about massive  rotors and calipers but enough to get  the job done  slow you down and you could enjoy this  vehicle through some twisty bits  and really be rewarded nicely and it's a  four-door sedan  which is great i want to showcase how  you could add a light  hit the camera button left of the  steering wheel  and actually bring up your  forward-facing camera it does have  trajectory and you got your 360 camera  as well that's a nice little touch added  for that signature edition it's not  the best clarity but it's stuff like  that  like i said that just allows you to have  that little extra something that you're  not going to get on some of the other  trims  with the mazda 6. guys let me do an  acceleration from a dead stop here  you're going to hear the traction loss  on throttle so right there a little bit  of torque steer  i do have the traction control shut off  by the way that's why we're getting a  little bit more but i wanted to showcase  what was going on  great handling though this is where the  mazda6  earns its keep in the handling  department  really smooth  like the sound coming from the front of  the car as well it's got a nice note to  it  nothing too obnoxious nothing like super  fake through the speakers and all that  kind of stuff but really just wanted to  showcase just how  tossable this car is i'll go ahead and  put the traction control back on  and we will do another acceleration here  from a dead stop  to give you an idea about how this  vehicle  accelerates so from a dead stop here  on throttle still getting it  cut back on throttle there but i still  had  some traction loss and like i said with  a little bit  wider wheel and tire to give us a little  bit more stick  and grip i think that would go a long  way but  you know we are working with 250  horsepower and we are  sending it all to the front wheels so  that's something that uh  sometimes sprouts up if you don't have  the stickiest of tires guys i have it  back in  automatic mode just to showcase how the  six-speed  shifts through the gears very very  smooth  very seamless i do have it in sport mode  though  so remember that's going to hold the  revs a little bit higher so that when  you go back on throttle  you're already in that higher rev range  which is great.
I'm gonna take it out of sport by just  clicking  that silver switch there right by the  shifter  and now the rpms drop we're running  about 1500 1600 rpm  driving down the road here cabin is  quiet  not a lot of wind noise not a lot of  road noise  and it it just feels like a more  expensive vehicle  and that's what i love about the mazda6  especially the signature  uh edition but hopefully this gave you a  nice overall feel  of what this vehicle is all about of  course you have your blind spot  monitoring and everything  we are going to get back to our special  location and wrap this up  so i will see you in a split second all  right guys it's been another great day  with this mazda6 i first of all got to  thank everybody at mazda  for allowing raties rides access to this  press feed vehicle it really goes to  show that you know what  even though we're still waiting for a  redesign there's still  plenty to love and enjoy when it comes  to the  mazda6 especially when it comes to the  driving experience  nice feel neutral chassis and that  turbocharged power  that makes the whole experience just  that much better  and with the signature trim you're  seeing that premium level of interior  and this is why  mazda 6 is my mid-size of choice but you  know what  if you want to keep seeing vehicles like  this on radius rise leave a comment in  the comment section if you're new  and you're on the way out hit that  follow button i promise you it's  worthwhile coming back for more  if you are a Follower thank you for  being part of the radius rise family  if you want to help us keep making great  content just for you click the link in  the description  get yourself some ladies rise merch  gotta give it up to the queen of the  camera  my wonderful wife lori working that  camera like a champ show her some love  in the comment section because she is  busting her butt out here thank you lori for all that you do and just like always guys i'll see you on the next right  it was a small three-wheel pickup truck  since then boy oh boy have things change  for this  iconic japanese brand now what's  interesting is that being a child  growing up in the 1980s it was always  about those rotary  powered mazda rx-7s i remember when  mazda won  the coveted 24 hours of le mans first  japanese car company to ever  do that and also the first and only  company to do it with a rotary engine  now if you fast forward to the 21st  century and i say mazda  a lot of people they would reply miata  that's what they're known for but you  know what  the rotary engine may not be around  anymore but they're still  bringing that zoom experience even  though they don't put in their  advertisements because they're trying to  be this  grown-up polished car company that  zoom experience is what makes this  mazda6  and the other mazdas in the lineup so  special because of that great driving  engagement  so let's go ahead let's dive into this  soul red it's that  brand identifier for mazda soul red  mazda6  and i want to find out is this the  mid-size you should be buying  over a sonata over a honda accord  and over a toyota camry let's go ahead  and find out right off the bat  the style what's interesting is that  this is not a new design  it's been in existence for a few years  now but it's still looking super fresh.
Let me explain why at the front of the  business mazda does a great  job on headlight housings and tail light  housings and i think that  that's one of the reasons why it still  looks fresh look at the way it kind of  tapers in  as you come close towards the grill on  the inside it's all blacked out of  course you're going to get led  headlights led  daytime running lamps and what's  wonderful is that the headlights  are actually adaptive so what that means  is that they actively move with the  steering wheel  and what's fascinating a lot of people  think that's new technology  back in 1949 tucker automobiles  actually made that setup it was a center  headlight that actually moved  with the steering wheel here it is 21st  century  on this mazda 6. as we work our way down  i love the way they take that nice  bright shiny chrome trim on our  signature setup here  no fake vent no flat black no gloss  black  everything beautiful sole red a little  bit of chrome to kind of  tie in both the top and the bottom  portion and then  as we come across the center grille i  love how the hood has a nice waterfall  sloping effect into the front fascia if  you notice  the chrome trim here mimics the actual  setup of the mazda logo the way it kind  of drops down and extends on both sides  instead of going gloss black they go  with a nice metallic gray  really just gives it exquisite styling  you got your forward facing camera  and then even the bottom portion the way  that they extend the front  fascia no need for any other bodywork to  stick on  looks great nice low and wide now when  we get up onto that hood  it's the simplicity that really equates  to beautiful styling on a mazda  the way that the body lines start on the  front fascia just go  into the hood and just drift away right  into the a-pillar  like a feather just floating in the wind  as we come around the bend  what are we seeing special on our  signature edition look at those wheels  hand polished right from japan love the  multi-spoke it's a 19-inch wheel  looking clean with our setup they are a  little narrow i wish they were a little  bit more wide  it's a 225 on the width but the great  news is nice bright  brushed aluminum look 19 inch wheel and  it works well with the sole red color  one of the things i also love on the  side here is the fender look at how  it's got a nice bend to it that's what  gives it i think that timeless look  where it's aging very well compared to a  lot of the competition  just super just smooth and seamless you  know that they took  a block of clay and just carved it  beautifully into the shape now.
That body line that's so strong just  fades away  into the passenger door obviously also  on the driver door on the other side  color matched on the mirror caps slim  and trim on those turn signals and then  you're gonna get some bright  shiny metal work just like on the front  top and bottom  of your side windows here we have a  standard size sunroof  you also have a color match shark fin  antenna very small in size  kind of blends in very nicely color  matched on the door handles  the one thing i wish they would have  done that i'm gonna zonk is i wouldn't  say they would have took  the side sill and just extended it down.
Just a little bit to give it a little  bit more  character from the side other than that  super smooth  love the way there's no hard body lines  no triangles no  weird geometric shapes you have a  nice size quarter window built into the  door  here but the thing that i wish they  would have done is actually made this  glass so i am going to zonk this gloss  black section but i do like the way they  flare out  the trim and you'll notice just like a  front  on the hood the roof has a nice slope to  it  right into the rear glass love the way  the body line comes right into that rear  fender  and then to wrap it out back you're  going to get led tail lights  nice trunk lid spoiler that extends off  this is part of that signature trim i  like the way they notch out the center to wrap around the mazda logo  the chrome trim and then as we drop down  you're going to get a turbo badge  because guess what we got some  turbocharged goodness underneath the  hood  and just great with the exhaust one  exhaust on each side they don't have to  look like a vacuum cleaner  doesn't have to look like some kind of  weird science experiment  it's just a round nice slash cut exhaust  one on each side you have  this dark gray color trim just to kind  of  spruce it up and break it up a little  bit and you got your mazda6 logo and the  signature badge  that's all you need but while we go  ahead let's pop the hood and see that  turbocharged fun  that this mazda6 is bringing all right  guys we got the hood popped.
We do have a prop rod so we are going to  zonk that at least on the signature trim  get rid of the prop rod but underneath  that hood you are going to have  a simple but tasteful engine cover it's  got the mazda badge  logo on it even has two cup holders but  the good news is underneath that  plastic cover is turbocharged fun so  you're looking at a 2.5 liter  turbocharged engine if you use premium  fuel  250 horsepower 310 pound-feet of torque  the awesome news is no cvt it's got a  six-speed automatic transmission  0-60 in about 6.3 seconds top speed 149  miles an hour  the car weighs around 3563 pounds  it is front-wheel drive and mpg's 23 in  the city  31 on the highway i think it's wonderful  that they bring that turbocharged power  it will be interesting because they're  saying that the redesign of this is  gonna have a straight  six turbocharged engine with rear wheel  drive  oh boy oh boy does that sound good but  you know what sounds good let's go check  out that interior because i think.
You might be impressed with what the sig  signature trim  brings to the table all right guys we're  inside the 2021  mazda6 signature edition i know you're  Saying well joe  this midsize sedan category is driving  me nuts  the competition is fierce uh i'm really  liking the soul red  and you know what having the top trim  with turbocharged power  sounds good to me how much does this one  cost msrp  is 36995  let's see what we get for our money to  the door panels i love  the choice of materials now up top it's  all soft  the great news is you got some of that  nice wood trim some of that great  silver trim and the way it flows nicely  into the door handle to open up the door  that shows thought in the whole design  process and i'm  i'm really digging this cream and dark  material it really pops nicely now would  i want to own it  probably not because it's just gonna get  fingerprints and everything but boy oh  boy  does it look good when it's nice and  clean you have a good sized door pocket  maybe two grilled cheese sandwiches that  your mom made for you  wrap them up in some aluminum foil and  you do have a nice  area for a bottle of mr pibb and we have  a bose sound system now when we get to  the dash  same thing look at how they take that  silver trim wrap it around bring it  across  soft touch you got this microfiber suede  material  the wood trim is tasteful this is  probably going to be the area.
Where a lot of people get turned off the  infotainment side of things so you do  have an  8-inch infotainment system it has not  been updated like the other mazda  products  and i think a lot of it has to do with  this guy right here where they place the  start stop button  that would all have to be redesigned  because the new system  is actually over 10 inches in width so  that is part of the equation  but you know what still easy to use is  it a touch screen yes  so that'll make you happy apple carplay  android auto  navigation it takes a few seconds when  you first prime it up but there it is  it is dated but it does work well so and  i think a lot of times people are going  to just use google maps  uh or apple maps or whatever you're  going to use other than  the actual navigation map now you do  have that silver trim goes all the way  across  i'm really digging this uh microfiber  suede material here looking good you do  have dual climate which is nice and i  love the quality of the knobs  easy to use ventilated seats heated  seats and heated steering wheel  you got a cubby for i would say easily  12 twinkies so that's a great place to  load all those twinkies let me lower the  air a little bit so you can still hear  me okay  twinkie area you got some gloss black  nothing too crazy but what i like about  i like the way it's sunk.
It's sunken down into that area rather  than being flush  soft touch material soft as a baby's  butt  this is going to control that six-speed  automatic transmission  you do have the sport mode remember  that's going to adjust how the  transmission behaves you just hit it up  that's it if you want to get out of  sport you hit it back down you have that  direct drive control knob to control  your navigation and all that kind of  stuff  nice flat black cover that when you  slide it back it feels great  two cup holders and then the great news  is because they're sunken down you can  put a tall a drink here.
You have the mazda key fob  tasteful it's light the buttons on the  side  i'm going to drop that in and close that  up very very soft on the armrest and  then you open this guy up  you got felt lining so you could put  some family jewels in there  you got two usbs an aux jack and a 12  volt  easy to get to and like i said you're  not going to scratch your family jewels  which is good  and then the interior and the signature  very premium  without that premium price i like the  little bit of silver trim  soft touch all the way down full  electric assist for the passenger  and of course the driver i have plenty  of headroom in here  and you have a standard size sunroof  which makes life a little brighter for  you but why don't you come over to the  business end.
Because i want to show you what you're  going to be holding on to  behind the wheel of the mazda6 all right  guys business time behind the wheel  you have your seat controls with two  memory seat settings  easy to get to of course you got the  ease of use is just really really super  clean  lower lumbar plenty of headroom steering  wheel  the thickness it could be a little  thicker but you know what it's got nice  10 and two notches  flat black on the buttons tasteful horn  button i wish they would have notched  out this center area  but you do have paddles behind the wheel  to go up and down  that six-speed automatic transmission  and then the dash  is clear concise and straightforward you  have an analog tack  analog fuel and cooling gauge but guess  what that digital display in the center  that's your speedometer and you could  actually go through different  information in that center area which  makes it really really easy to do and  you have a digital  um fuel range gauge as well which is  wonderful but while we go ahead  let's check out that back seat and see  how your passengers are going to like  this fully loaded mazda 6.  all right guys backseat time in the  mazda6 great news is you got plenty of  leg room  plenty of head room especially the way.
They kind of notch out the headliner a  little bit  one of my favorite things are the backs  of the seats so you're not getting any  of that plastic  it looks really great great size on the  pocket so you could put  a dictionary back here have your kids  learn some new words  other than the bad words that they're  learning from you you got  your rear ac with some nice little trim  here  and i know you're probably saying well  joe where's my connectivity hold that  thought  sitting back in the seat the leather is  so soft back here feels really good  get ready for this one boom semi-soft on  the armrest you have heated seats  two cupholders and are you ready for it  ta-da  two usbs and some felt linings so guess  what  take your iphone 44 gold and platinum  edition you can put in here it's not  gonna get scratched  boom badoom if you're ready i'm ready  let's go check out that trunk  because i want to take this for a spin  all right guys let's see what kind of  junk we could put in the trunk of our  mazda6  you just hit the button you lift it up  decent size on the width but the good  news is you're looking at 15 cubic feet  of space  i like the way the floor is a little bit  on the lower side and then you're going  to pull these handles here  which are at the top on each side that's  going to allow you to fold down those  seats.
So that you can go if you are ready to  hoard all that toilet paper at the  grocery store  you could load it right into here but  you know what this is about hauling  the charmin we're going to also haul the  mail  and see how this mazda6 drives let's go  guys we're in the 2021  mazda6 signature edition  i'm telling you this interior level of  quality in here  is really second to none everywhere you  touch  is nice soft material and even though  in the end if i was buying a mazda 6 a  2021 i would go carbon edition  this signature edition with the two-tone  definitely  brings this interior alive now we won't  talk about the sore spot too much i'm  not gonna kick a dead horse or anything  like that but  obviously the infotainment system is  gonna be the weak link  in this whole uh fence of a mazda6  but the good news is you do have apple  carplay android auto  and it's easy to get to easy to see  it's a touch screen which i know a lot  of people like the touch screen where  you don't have to just use  the direct drive control knob now  steering wheel feels good those 10 and  two notches  the paddles they're on the smaller side  and they're really inward  but if you want to use them they're  there for you to use  i'm going to go ahead and take that  silver switch put it in a sport mode as  soon as i do that.
It actually brings the revs up it  dropped me down a gear it actually  brings the revs up while i'm driving  down this road here  head up display gives you your speed  tells you what the speed limit is  and i'm just gonna leave it in full  automatic mode for the first few seconds  here  and then we will put it in the manual  mode so i could showcase  how the transmission behaves when using  the paddles but  the seats are so comfortable so  supportive  feel good look good i wish there was  wireless charging so that definitely is  going to be another  zonk there but other than that the dash  is laid out very nicely  i don't need a digital display i don't  need  um a bunch of fancy other gizmos in here  i like the  clean aesthetics and  i mean you have the digital gauge in the  center the analog gauges are very easy  to read  at a quick glance visibility out the  back is fantastic  and then of course we have 250  horsepower because guess what  i filled this one up with premium fuel  but nice steering feel once we get to  the twisty bits  and kind of throw into some turns a  little bit that's where you're really  going to see the mazda6  earn its keep um and then i got the  ventilated seats on which feel amazing  all right guys i have it in manual mode  we're gonna go through some twisty bits  here.
On the brakes into this right hand bend  on throttle here we go little bit of  tire spin  look at the way she holds a line very  very nice  good weight to the steering and that's  where  you're gonna feel good behind the wheel  of this mazda6  is how she behaves when  you're going from left to right  transitions or any type of turning to be  honest with you  and the transmission downshift shifts  very very smooth  very seamless which is nice  roll on throttle you got that  turbocharged power  visibility is great getting to  everything  on the interior is simple within reach  and it makes sense i even like the  location of the cup holders you know  when you look at the new mazda 3 cup  holders they put in front of the shifter  i don't like that location it doesn't  allow you to have a taller bottle  and it's right near everything that  you're trying to reach  in this vehicle it's a little bit  further back and that really helps  as well you do have a gear indicator at  the base  of your digital speedometer which is  nice you know i think that the  the mazda6 would really benefit from a  little  wider wheel and tire definitely in that  right hand bend.
I was breaking some traction and you'll  see from a dead stop  acceleration you also break traction but  second gear  on throttle here we go  on the brakes  see coming out that turn i lost some  traction  holds a line great though that  multi-link rear suspension  doing the business look how i'm able to  just hold a nice steady  constant radius there  brakes feel good and we're not talking  about massive  rotors and calipers but enough to get  the job done  slow you down and you could enjoy this  vehicle through some twisty bits  and really be rewarded nicely and it's a  four-door sedan  which is great i want to showcase how  you could add a light  hit the camera button left of the  steering wheel  and actually bring up your  forward-facing camera it does have  trajectory and you got your 360 camera  as well that's a nice little touch added  for that signature edition it's not  the best clarity but it's stuff like  that  like i said that just allows you to have  that little extra something that you're  not going to get on some of the other  trims  with the mazda 6. guys let me do an  acceleration from a dead stop here  you're going to hear the traction loss  on throttle so right there a little bit  of torque steer  i do have the traction control shut off  by the way that's why we're getting a  little bit more but i wanted to showcase  what was going on  great handling though this is where the  mazda6  earns its keep in the handling  department  really smooth  like the sound coming from the front of  the car as well it's got a nice note to  it.
Nothing too obnoxious nothing like super  fake through the speakers and all that  kind of stuff but really just wanted to  showcase just how  tossable this car is i'll go ahead and  put the traction control back on  and we will do another acceleration here  from a dead stop  to give you an idea about how this  vehicle  accelerates so from a dead stop here  on throttle still getting it  cut back on throttle there but i still  had  some traction loss and like i said with  a little bit  wider wheel and tire to give us a little  bit more stick  and grip i think that would go a long  way but  you know we are working with 250  horsepower and we are  sending it all to the front wheels so  that's something that uh  sometimes sprouts up if you don't have  the stickiest of tires guys i have it  back in  automatic mode just to showcase how the  six-speed  shifts through the gears very very  smooth  very seamless i do have it in sport mode  though  so remember that's going to hold the  revs a little bit higher so that when  you go back on throttle  you're already in that higher rev range  which is great  i'm gonna take it out of sport by just  clicking  that silver switch there right by the  shifter  and now the rpms drop we're running  about 1500 1600 rpm  driving down the road here cabin is  quiet  not a lot of wind noise not a lot of  road noise  and it it just feels like a more  expensive vehicle  and that's what i love about the mazda6  especially the signature  uh edition but hopefully this gave you a  nice overall feel  of what this vehicle is all about of  course you have your blind spot  monitoring and everything  we are going to get back to our special  location and wrap this up.
So i will see you in a split second all  right guys it's been another great day  with this mazda6 i first of all got to  thank everybody at mazda  for allowing raties rides access to this  press feed vehicle it really goes to  show that you know what  even though we're still waiting for a  redesign there's still  plenty to love and enjoy when it comes  to the  mazda6 especially when it comes to the  driving experience  nice feel neutral chassis and that  turbocharged power  that makes the whole experience just  that much better  and with the signature trim you're  seeing that premium level of interior  and this is why  mazda 6 is my mid-size of choice but you  know what  if you want to keep seeing vehicles like  this on radius rise leave a comment in  the comment section if you're new  and you're on the way out hit that  follow button i promise you it's  worthwhile coming back for more.
